Tears Left in a Window

A meditation on the spaces left behind by those we love. Here, an ordinary room transforms into a breathless sanctuary of memory. It is a poem about opening a door to the past, standing still in the overwhelming presence of an absence, and reaching out to a love that echoes endlessly through a silent window.

Tears Left in a Window

With the scent of your thoughts and a simple memory of your smile

I opened the door

Frantically searching for your presence with a feeling from a far beginning
vibrating on my face through every visible strand of life
a life that only you could define

Mesmerized by a
dance of thousand colors glowing in calm images
left by your eyes looking through a silent window

I stood still and cried

Tears turning and flying all around the room collecting every scent of you
with a desire gasping so high above the means of this ordinary day

I stepped forward towards the window where we were first born into a shadow of light
where our lives echoed in a bending parallel of love

And where my thoughts reached out to yours in a place only heaven can touch
